The Cooperage
Built in 1861, The Cooperage was originally the workshop for John McKanna, a cooper who built barrels, kegs, and things of the sort. he ran successful business out of the building for many years. Others were doing the same until it became a storage facility and fell into disrepair. A new group is looking to give the building a new meaning, and make it the cultural center of Wayne County and Northeast Pennsylvania.
Dakan Enterprises is proud to play a part in the historic transformation and creation of The Cooperage. This top-to-bottom renovation encompassed everything from the foundation to the roof to create spaces for live music, education, performances, and community. Key features of the project included a stage, commercial kitchen, fit-out for a radio station, and the installation of a pellet boiler.
